Robbie Williams set flashbulbs popping after turning up to watch his best friend perform in a hit musical.
The pop star was in Manchester for the opening night of We Will Rock You, the popular show based on the songs of rock legends Queen.

Robbie's friend, actor Jonathan Wilkes, is starring in the show, which is embarking on a UK tour opening at the Palace Theatre.

IT was the biggest of Big Finishes, a perfectly-done stadium rock moment.

When Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor joined the cast of We Will Rock You for the first-night encore of Bohemian Rhapsody, the Palace Theatre went berserk.

Queen fans had already been treated to a string of the band's hits as part of the show, but this was even more exciting for them all than snapping pics of Robbie Williams and the other celebs who'd turned out for the big night.

This much - hyped and much-anticipated rock musical had arrived in Manchester with guitars blazing.

SINGER Robbie Williams joined a galaxy of stars bringing a kind of magic to the launch of Queen musical We Will Rock You last night.

Celebrities including TV presenter Ant McPartlin and Bolton comedy star Patrick McGuinness walked the red carpet to watch the opening night of the first-ever UK touring production of the rock extravaganza at Manchester's Palace Theatre.

The show's co-creators Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor were also among those in the audience but they evaded the paparazzi as they had slipped backstage earlier in the day.

Brian and Roger did however joined the cast and and band for Bohemian Rhapsody.

The Queen musical which has been a huge West End success now runs for 12 weeks in Manchester before heading on tour across the UK until January 2010.
