As Polish Queen fans converged to Nowe Miasto Lubawskie in Poland, two others, Maciej Kuszlewicz and Tomek Wiercioch, travelled to Gdansk airport to collect the only Englishman heading in the same direction. Jim Jenkins, biographer, friend of the band, one of the most knowledgeable people on the history of Queen and fan club member since its formation, joined in the throng of happy people to celebrate the music of Queen and in particular remember Hot Space, in this its 30th anniversary year.

Local Queen fan extraordinaire ZBYSZEK KAMINSKI, who organised this, the 11th convention over the weekend of 27th – 29th July 2012 in his hometown. Fans were treated to concert videos and plenty of music. DAYS OF OUR LIVES kick started the proceedings and for opening night, the fans went along to the grounds of Osir Stadium for a bonfire gathering. This turned into a very memorable evening. Sitting around the fire, fans playing acoustic guitar, everybody singing along to Queen songs, whilst some roasted sausages to accompany the wine, beer and vodka that flowed all night long! Fan Mateusz Klimek celebrated his 21st birthday with champagne.

The activities for Saturday held in the MCK Hall where the fans could take part in a fun Queen quiz, tug-of-war created some noise and there was karaoke too. A competition based around ‘charades’ was held which caused much laughter amongst the crowd. Everybody attending had a go at everything on offer. At the Osir Stadium, the venue for the start of the evening’s entertainment opened with PIOTR PRONIUK playing keyboards and had the audience singing the words to the songs. The local Mayor and Government Officials joined in the fun. The live band consisted of convention attendees and many jumped up on stage to sing a song. They all did exceptionally well.

The Queen Themed Party was held in the Duo Bar in the town centre. Some fans dressed up in the colours of the Hot Space album cover and used appropriate mask! Zbyszek was the DJ and played as many songs as he could. Everyone partied and danced until dawn break on Sunday morning.

Thank you to all the bidders.

The event ended with many fans joining together on the stage and singing along to Friends Will Be Friends. Everybody had a terrific time.

Sunday evening was another fun filled evening for those who decided to stay an extra night. There was singing in the Duo Bar and later at the University ground. A perfect summers evening. The whole event was a very special occasion with an extraordinary atmosphere that was electric from start to finish.
