Press Release: On Fire At The Bowl Issued in The US in May

~MAY 21, 2013~

“We hadn’t seen the footage for years, but when we looked at it we couldn’t believe how good it was. We were on fire”.

-Roger Taylor

New York, NY—June 5, 1982. Queen take the stage at England’s Milton Keynes Bowl, as part of the Hot Space Tour. Magic ensues.

On May 21, 2013, Eagle Rock Entertainment will re-issue Queen On Fire: Live at the Bowl on 2DVD and Digital Video

In 1982, Queen (Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon) was, truly, on fire, playing more than 60 sell-out concerts in the world’s biggest arenas. Of course, the members of Queen were masters of arena rock, a craft they put to good use when they came to play this giant outdoor venue, as captured on Queen On Fire: Live At The Bowl.

170 minutes deep, this two-disc set has been extensively restored from the original sound and footage. Disc 1 presents the performance in its entirety, filmed by Gavin Taylor. “Flash,” “Somebody To Love,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Are The Champions,” and two versions of “We Will Rock You” are just part of the electrifying set list.

Disc 2 features a wealth of bonus material, including interviews, a photo gallery, and bonus performances at Tokyo’s Seibu Stadium (November 3, 1982) and Vienna’s Stadthalle (May 12, 1982). The interviews encompassed are a behind-the-scenes look at Milton Keynes as the crew preps the massive stage show, a chat with Freddie Mercury in Munich on during the European leg of the Hot Space tour, and an interview with Brian May and Roger Taylor.

With over three hours of material, On Fire: Live At The Bowl promises to set Queen fans ablaze.

Still not on Blu-ray?
Why is it that Eagle Rock releases only some videos on DVD and others on DVD and Blu-ray?
As Roger says: “We hadn’t seen the footage for years, but when we looked at it we couldn’t believe how good it was". That makes me believe that the footage is top quality - not some standard definition crap that has crap on the screen

Donovan Falcón

Definitely it´s a shame; you´ve started making HIM boring. Sad! That´s not fair for the greatest musician of all times...

Good, can't wait I wore my Live At the Bowl DVD out & its time to replace...perfect!

Freddie himself stated in 1990 "oh shit, all this crap again". And he was right. Or another famous line from him "you can do anything you want with my music but never make me boring".......

All this crap again!!!!!!!!! (when i say crap, i mean the re-release of the product, not the concert which was great)
And not even a fucking new bonus??
at least the last re-release of wembley included the complete first night.
Couldn't you have included here the complete Japan 82' concert??? let me guess, you are planning on doing that for the next re-re-release in another 6 years.

Man, what happened to rainbow 74', why not hammersmith 79', Argentina 81', houston 77' or knebworth 86' ???

Hey, this is AMAZING, thanks a lot. I got a question for you - I heard that Queen played in 1986 2 great concerts in London's Wembley Stadium. And the second night (at least) was supposed to be recorded. Is there any chance you release Wembley ? Maybe on VHS or DVD please ? Thanks

Tony Newman

BTW, this has been in the states for years! I think Best Buy sells it.

Brian May replied to me once saying that we would complain if they released the 70's stuff because the quality is not as good as the 80's... He DID say The Rainbow Show may be released in our lifetime.

The chance of seeing Earls Court, Hyde Park, Houston 77 are VERY slim... Too bad, they're missing a great profit opportunity... For now, the bootleggers are winning...

Tony Newman

I'd rather watch a bad version of any 70's show than this again... WTF?????????????????????

Neil Turner

How about fresh material or if you have to duplicate some HD Bluray's would be great

gus pastrana

Queen was so incredible from 74-77, white queen, ogre battle, liar, father to son....... Freddie was so different, please no more 80's Queen, no more another one bite the dust-under pressure, please !!!!!!!! You wanna make money release those 70's live footage and we will buy them all !!!!!!

gus pastrana

Can you stop re-re-re-releasing same think over over again !!!!!!!!!!! please !!!!!!! How about live from 1974 to 1977 ?!

Vinnie Liotta

I was there!! It was awesome!!!

THE MOB?! Lol! I wouldn't go THAT far! Lol!

chinori kanezaki

I want it!

Why not release the audio concert of hyde park, I enjoy more lisening a new and legendary concert to view the same concert over and over again.

Hmm, I bought this already a few years back in the U.S. Just another release from a different company! The only people who will buy it are people who are new fans who probably don't own it yet!
