VH1 Classic Radio / Extravaganza Reports

Earlier this week, Queen drummer Roger Taylor announced plans for a Queen Extravaganza tour next year.  During the concerts, rare footage of the group will be shown and a tribute band will take the stage and play Queen’s hits and lesser known tracks.  As for who will be in that tribute band – there is currently a contest going on where musicians can upload material and the best ones will be chosen to be in the group. Roger told us if he’s nervous about the challenge of finding rockers for the band.

“It is difficult but today I got a call and they said, ‘Wow, check this guy out!’  And there’s this guy on there singing just like Freddie, just fantastic pitch.  And it’s a sight that really gave me a lift.  I thought, ‘Wow, this really might work!’”
