Amy Winehouse confirms performance at The 46664 Concert Honouring Nelson Mandela

London, Hyde Park, June 27, 2008

Amy Winehouse is proud to confirm that she will perform in celebration of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday.

The 46664 concert will take place at London’s Hyde Park on the evening of Friday June 27 and Amy and her band will slot in alongside some of the world’s most popular artists including Queen + Paul Rodgers, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Leona Lewis, Sugababes, Dame Shirley Bassey, Razorlight as well as a dozen South African artists including Johnny Clegg, Papa Wemba and the Soweto Gospel Choir.

Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro, Forest Whitaker and Lewis Hamilton will also be in attendance.

Over the past 20 years, many artists have shown their support for Mr. Mandela and all that he has stood for. Amy is honoured to add her voice to those who continue to support the man and his 46664 organisation, which raises awareness about the impact of AIDS and promotes HIV prevention.
