THE SUCCESSFUL LONDON WEST END MUSICAL IS CELEBRATING ITS GALA PREMIERE IN VIENNA’S RAIMUND THEATRE!

The show goes on and on – and now in Vienna too! Countless number one hits, unforgettable live shows – QUEEN is doubtlessly one of the few legendary groups to have written music history.

With their own musical WE WILL ROCK YOU – after the hymn with the same name – the band has crowned its unbelievable success story again in an impressive way. Six years spent on its development and costs amounting to more than EUR 12 million have not missed their mark: since its premiere performance on 14 May 2002 in the London Dominion Theatre WE WILL ROCK YOU has been considered one of the most gigantic top shows and celebrated evening for evening with standing ovations.

Acclaimed by the British press as a “musical in a completely different format” (BBC Newsnight) and as a fascinating “hi-tech extravaganza” (The Guardian), the “rock-theatrical stage show” has grown into a phenomenal event-magnet attracting audiences and selling over 3.3 million tickets in London alone. The original team from the sensational London show, Brian May and Roger Taylor, from QUEEN and their long-term manager Jim Beach, director and successful author, Ben Elton (The Young Ones, Beautiful Game, Mr. Bean), set designer Mark Fisher (U2, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd) and the self-confessed QUEEN fan, Robert de Niro together with Michael Brenner, Dagmar Windisch as well as Queen Theatrical Productions, Phil McIntyre Entertainments and Tribeca Theatrical Productions have produced the musical in cooperation with Vereinigten Bühnen Wien and their theatre manager Kathrin Zechner in the Raimund Theater.

21(!) of their super hits have been integrated into the new work and in turn are now writing new musical and stage history: the musical WE WILL ROCK YOU by QUEEN and Ben Elton is currently the longest staged musical in the Dominion Theatre – one of the largest theatres in the London West End. WE WILL ROCK YOU has even topped the longest record holder, Grease, by Robert Stigwood, which ran in the Dominion Theatre for 3 years and 3 months.
