FINAL EXTENSION ANNOUNCED
FINAL PERFORMANCE MAY 11, 2008

After playing more than one year of performances at Toronto’s Canon Theatre, WE WILL ROCK YOU announces its final extension through May 11, 2008. The new and final block of tickets will go on sale Sunday March 16, 2008.

Dora Award winner for Best Musical, the Canadian production of WE WILL ROCK YOU is an audience favourite, receiving standing ovations at each and every performance. Originally scheduled to play seven weeks, the show was quickly extended again and again. By the time its Toronto run will end WE WILL ROCK YOU will have played 61 weeks, been seen by more than 700,000 people, and generated an estimated economic spin-off to the city of $250 million.

Producer David Mirvish says: “I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with the run of WE WILL ROCK YOU in Toronto.
“The show has employed an extremely talented all-Canadian cast; in fact, introducing some major new talent, actors I know will go on to great careers.

“The show has also introduced live theatre to many young people, making them loyal theatregoers, if we are to judge by how often many of them have been to see WE WILL ROCK YOU. Many have attended a dozen or more times.

“But WE WILL ROCK YOU’s popularity isn’t confined to Toronto. The show is about to enter its seventh year in London and is also playing in long-running engagements in major cities around the world.

“Plans are under way to route a Canadian Tour.”
