Queen landed in Japan for the first time on April 17, 1975, at Haneda Airport - the date became the most important day for Japanese Queen fans. The date is now a public memorial day in Japan and has been officially certified as 'QUEEN DAY'.

This year, the Queen Day In Spring event was organized by the team of our rock music site Music Life Club and was held, once again, at the Tiat Sky Hall at the airport on Saturday, April 13th. The venue was full to its capacity, all 300 seats had immediately sold out. Mr. Takayuki Ishizumi, Queen Day producer and Queen historian hosted the event as MC.

The event consisted of two parts; the first part was a tribute band called Queer, who gave a superb performance and paid sincere homage to Freddie, Brian, Roger, and John's music.

In the second part, the rock artist, Rolly and Kenichi Ukon (actor/ lyric interpreter) talked about the band and also performed songs a selection of Queen songs.

The whole audience thoroughly enjoyed both the talk and live performance aspects provided and responded with huge applause for the host and performers.

Revenues from the event are to be donated to The Mercury Phoenix Trust.
