Queen have topped a new nationwide poll of the UK’s most iconic basslines, as Sky Arts prepares to launch a three-part documentary series celebrating the unsung heroes of the rhythm section.

The research, commissioned by Sky ahead of the launch of Greatest Basslines, asked 2,000 music fans to vote for the most memorable grooves of all time. Queen claimed four of the top 10 spots, with Another One Bites the Dust taking first place, followed by Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean and Queen’s Under Pressure. Queen bassist John Deacon was also voted the greatest bass player of all time.
