QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS ADD RIO CONCERT

Queen + Paul Rodgers today confirmed that they have added a further concert to their schedule of dates in Latin America. The band will now also play in Rio de Janeiro, the setting for Queen’s historic Rock in Rio concerts in January 1985.

The new date marks Queen’s first return to the city for a concert since that record-breaking event almost 24 years ago.

Already booked to play two shows in Brazil – Sao Paulo’s Via Funchal on November 16 and 27, Queen + Paul Rodgers will now also play Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena on Saturday November 29.

The Rio date will be the final concert of the band’s exhaustive ‘Cosmos Rocks’ tour which began in Moscow on September 15 and which will see them having played 39 sold out concerts in 18 countries.

The Latin America tour additionally sees the band play concerts in Chile and Argentina before arriving in Brazil:

- Santiago, Chile, Carlos de Apoquindo stadium, November 19.

– Buenos Aires, Argentina Velez Sarsfield, November 21.

Queen’s visit to Brazil will see the release of a new Brazil-only greatest hits CD, Queen Collection 2. The first Collection album, released last year, became a No.1 album for over six weeks.
